Cuban Health Professionals Start Study on Disabled People in Managua

Guantánamo, Jan 5 (CMKS).- Cuban and Nicaraguan experts recently started a study on disabled people in Managua as part of a program to provide them with medical assistance and, at the same time, restore their citizen rights.

Prensa Latina reported that 68 Cuban specialists are working together with colleagues from
the Central American country in two departments of Managua: San Francisco Libre and Tipitapa.

The research was concluded in Chinandega, Masaya and Matagalpa, one of the most complex areas for being situated in a mountain range.

In addition to the study of the physical and mental disabilities of the people, the experts
involved in the program are providing medical care to the rest of the population and have
participated in campaigns against dengue fever transmitting mosquito Aedes aegypti.

The Todo con Voz program emerged as an initiative of Cuban Revolution leader Fidel Castro.

It has been also implemented in other countries members of the Bolivarian Alliance for the
Peoples of the Americas (ALBA).
