
Cuba-Russia Reunion at Book Fair a Success
Guantánamo, Feb 19 (CMKS).- The reunion of Cuba and Russia has been successful, Mikhail Kamynin, Russian Ambassador to Havana said this Thursday, when referring to the XIX International Book Fair, where his country is Guest of Honor.
Kamynin added that it is evident the Cuban people’s interest for his country’s literature , a
fact proved by the numerous visits to the Russian pavilion at the Morro-Cabaña Park, where Cubans have been able to meet with new writers and contemporary artists.
Oleg Vyazmitinov, Ria Novosti agency correspondent in charge of promoting the Slavic country's activities in the literary event, said that the eagerness of the audience does not diminish with the passage of time.
Vyazmitinov said that visitors ask the exhibitors about the characteristics of the samples and the possibilities to better understand one aspect or another, confirming the persistence of the taste for literature and Russian culture on the inhabitants of the Caribbean nation.
On the seventh day of the International Book Fair Cuba 2010, at its headquarters in the Cabaña Fortress, the Russian program included a meeting on fantasy and science fiction, which was attended by important contemporary writers as Sergei Lukyanenko.Source: ACN
