
Guantanamo benefit by excimer laser surgeries
Guantanamo, Nov. 26 .- More than a hundred patients of Guantanamo affected by nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism have been benefited from surgery with excimer laser, a practice that recovers the patients’ sight.
This type of surgery is a less invasive method to the body which is performed on an outpatient basis. It requires only thirty days of rest and promotes the rapid incorporation of the patients to their workplaces.
The result of these operations carried out in the province’s Ophthalmic Center eliminates the use of lenses and glasses, if they avoid the traumatism, eye rubbing, for many hours using the computer or TV and sun exposure.
Guantanamo Ophthalmic Center also offers 9 specialized consultations to patients with dimly vision, oculoplasty, and problems with the cornea, retina, cataract, contact lenses and refractive surgery.
