
Cuba Places Second in FIVB Men’s Grand Champions Cup
Guantánamo, Nov 23 (CMKS).- Cuba beat Iran in four sets (25-14, 25-22, 15-25, 25-15) on Monday and in the process secured the second spot of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Men’s Grand Champions Cup that concluded in the Japanese cities of Osaka and Nagoya.According to the website of the event, Yoandy Leal led the Cuban attack with 18 points
while teammates Michael Sanchez and Wilfredo Leon contributed 14 and 10 units, respectively.In other results on Monday, Brazil concluded the tournament undefeated with an easy
straight-set win (25-12, 26-24, 25-22) over hosts Japan while Poland blanked Egypt 25-19, 25- 18 and 25-19.Brazil topped the medal standings with five victories in as many outings followed by Cuba (4-1) and Japan (3-2). Poland was fourth (2-3) while Iran (1-4) and Egypt (0-5) finished at the bottom.
